RECENT ARTWORKS

Works produced in the 60s and belonging to the Arte Programmata movement, thus also to MID, were characterized by the attempt to null the semantic dimension. They wanted to be a pure expression of visual phenomena.
Contrariwise ‘semantization’ in my recent works is an expressive value determinant and programmatically pursued; as for example in this installation called Dancing Shadow which requires an action as old as pulling a bell rope to be activated.
The same gesture is also needed for Visual Bells, the gigantic installation I specifically designed for ZKM. Again it’s a matter of an action simple as pulling a rope, this time with the surprising effect of activating three enormous blinking and light-emitting pendulums.
